  3. 1/2 cup 118ml Tomato paste

  4. 2/3 cup 157ml Vinegar

  5. 1/3 cup 53g / 1.9oz Dark brown sugar

  6. 3 tablespoons 45ml Molasses

  7. 1 1/4 teaspoons 6 1/3ml Liquid smoke

  8. 1 teaspoon 5ml Salt

  9. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Onion powder

  10. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Freshly-ground black pepper

  11. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Ground mustard

  12. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Paprika

  13. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Garlic powder

  14. 1 Cayenne

  1. Recipe Instructions Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over high heat and whisk until smooth. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 45 minutes or until thick. After the sauce cools you can use it immediately, but it's best to store it in a covered container in the refrigerator overnight where the flavor improves. This recipe yields 1 1/2 cups.
