  1. 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine

  2. 1 1/2 cups sugar

  3. 1 cup light corn syrup

  4. 1 1/2 cups whipping cream

  5. 1/8 teaspoon salt

  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  7. 6 chilled Red Delicious apples, stemmed and washed Chocolate Glaze:

  8. 1/4 cup light corn syrup

  9. 2 tablespoons butter or margarine

  10. 3 ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels Chopped Pecans

  1. Combine butter, sugar, corn syrup, cream and salt in microwave-safe 2-quart measure. Microwave on high 22-24 minutes or until microwave-safe candy thermometer reaches 255 degrees F. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Cool 5 minutes.

  2. Insert sticks into apples at stem end, dip apples into caramel mixture to coat. Place on buttered squares of waxed paper until firm.

  3. For Chocolate Glaze: Combine corn syrup and butter or margarine in microwave-safe 1-cup measure; microwave on high 1 minute or until mixture boils. Stir in chocolate morsels; mix thoroughly. (Makes 1/2 cup.) 4. Remove waxed paper from apples; coat bottoms with Chocolate Glaze and dip into nuts. Chill until firm.
