  1. 6 tart apples, sliced

  2. 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  3. 1/4 cup bacon drippings ñ you can substitute butter

  4. 1/4 cup brown sugar

  5. 1/8 teaspoon salt

  6. 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  7. 1 dash of nutmeg

  1. In a large skillet, melt bacon drippings or butter. Pour apples evenly over skillet bottom. Sprinkle lemon juice over them, then brown sugar, then salt. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes until apples are tender and juicy. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
