  6. 2 c Sifted all-purpose flour

  7. 1 t Baking powder

  8. 1/2 ts Soda

  9. 1/2 ts Salt

  10. 2 ts Ginger

  11. 1/2 ts Allspice

  12. 1/2 ts Cinnamon

  13. 1/2 c Shortening -- soft

  14. 1/2 c Brown sugar, firmly packed

  15. 2 Eggs

  16. 1/2 c Light molasses

  17. 1 c Cooked oatmeal, cooled*

  18. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices into bowl.

  19. Add remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Drop

  20. by teaspoonfuls onto greased cooky sheets. Bake in preheated

  21. 375 F.

  22. 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from cooky sheets;

  23. cool. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, if desired.

  24. *NOTE: Cook Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) according

  25. to package directions.
