  1. 2 cups flour

  2. 4 rounded tsp. baking powder

  3. 3/4 to 1 tsp. salt

  4. 3/4 to 1 cup tepid water (warm)

  1. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Stir a few strokes to mix. Add warm water, mix to make a “moist” dough. Put on floured board. Knead only to form a rounded ball of dough. Press and pat out to approximately 1/2 inch thick.

  2. Using a knife, cut in desired pieces making a slit in center of each piece.

  3. Fry in hot (375°F) deep fat. Drain on paper towels.

  4. Cover with aluminum foil or paper towels to keep warm
