  1. 1 Garlic clove

  2. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Salt

  3. 2 cups 80g / 2.8oz Fresh basil leaves - (loosely packed)

  4. 1 cup 198g / 7oz Egg (large)

  5. 4 teaspoons 20ml Fresh lemon juice

  6. 3/4 cup 177ml Vegetable oil

  7. 1/4 cup 59ml Olive oil Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste

  1. Recipe Instructions Mince and mash the garlic to a paste with the salt. In a food processor or blender blend together the basil, the egg, the lemon juice and the garlic paste, with the motor running add the oils in a slow stream, and blend the mayonnaise well. Season the mayonnaise with salt and pepper. This recipe yields about 1 1/4 cups.
