  2. 2 pounds bulk Italian sausage or ground beef

  3. 3 medium onions, chopped

  4. 1 large bell pepper, chopped

  5. 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped

  6. 29 ounces diced tomatoes, undrained

  7. 29 ounces tomato sauce

  8. 12 ounces tomato paste

  9. 2 tablespoons dried basil leaves

  10. 1 tablespoon dried oregano leaves

  11. 1 tablespoon sugar

  12. 1 teaspoon salt

  13. 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  14. 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

  1. Cook sausage, onions, bell pepper and garlic in skillet over medium heat about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sausage is no longer pink; drain. Spoon sausage mixture into 5 quart crockpot. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low 8 to 9 hours or until vegetables are tender.
