  1. 1 cup water

  2. 2 cups cashews

  3. 12 cups yeast flakes

  4. 2 teaspoons onion powder

  5. 3 tablespoons carrot -- finely grated

  6. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  7. 1 1/2 cups boiling water

  8. 1/3 cup unflavored gelatin

  9. 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin

  10. 1/2 cup lemon juice

  11. 1 teaspoon salt

  1. Preparation : 1.Soak gelatin and 1 cup water in blender.

  2. Pour boiling water over soaked gelatin and cool briefly, then blend to dissolve.

  3. Add cashews and blend until creamy.

  4. Add remaining ingredients and blend again until creamy.

  5. Pour into a quart mold.

  6. Cover and refrigerate 6-8 hours until firm.

  7. Slice and use as sandwich filling or on crackers. **Variation: Substititute 1 pimento for grated carrot for a darker color. Serving Suggestions: a. Potato-au-gratin- Use baked or boiled potatoes; open potato and spread sliced cheese on top. Broil for 2 minutes or toast in toaster oven or in microwave 2 minutes at medium. cheese will melt. b. Melt on steamed cauliflower or broccoli.
