Scotch Cake (with icing)

2 cups sugar

1 cup water

1 stick butter

1 stick margarine

2 eggs -- slightly beaten

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

ICING:

1 stick butter or margarine -- melted

1 box confectioner's sugar

4 tablespoons cocoa

6 tablespoons milk

1 tablespoon vanilla

1 cup pecans -- chopped

400F for 20 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

Mix the icing ingredients together and pour over hot cake.
