  1. 10 cups water

  2. 2 cups dry navy beans -- ( 1 pound )

  3. 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  4. 1/4 cup molasses

  5. 1 teaspoon salt

  6. 6 slices -- crispy cooked and -- crumbled

  7. 1 medium onion chopped

  8. 1 cup water

  1. Preparation : Heat oven to 350F. Heat 10 cups water and beans to a boil in Dutch oven boil uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Stir in remaining ingredients except 3 cups water cover and bake 4 hrs stirring occasionally. Stir in 3 cups water and bake uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hrs until beans are tender.
