  6. 2 c Flour

  7. 1/2 ts Baking powder

  8. 1/4 ts Salt

  9. 1/4 c Oil

  10. MMMMM--POTATO FILLING--

  11. 4 Potato; cooked mashed

  12. Chicken fat; melted

  13. Salt

  14. Pepper; lots of pepper

  15. MMMMM--LIVER FILLING--

  16. 1/2 lb Liver; beef, broiled, choppd

  17. 3 Chicken liver; broiled chopd

  18. 1/2 lb Ground beef; sauteed

  19. 1/2 c Potato; mashed

  20. 1 Egg

  21. 1 Onion; minced and browned i

  22. 1 tb Oil

  23. 1/2 ts Salt

  24. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl.

  25. Beat egg, oil, and water and add to the flour mixture. Knead lightly

  26. until dough is soft; it will be slightly oily but not sticky. Cover

  27. and set in a warm place for 1 hour. Make filling. For either filing,

  28. combine all ingredients and mix well. Divide dough in half and roll

  29. as thin as possible into a rectangle. Spread the filling on long side

  30. of the dough and roll like a jelly roll. CUt into 1-in.

  31. slices. Pull ends of the dough over the filling and tuck into the

  32. knish to form small cakes. Place on a well-greased baking sheet. Bake

  33. in a 375 degree F. oven until brown.
