  1. 3/4 cup shortening

  2. 2 cups sugar

  3. 2 egg s

  4. 2 cups flour

  5. 1 tsp. baking powder

  6. 1 1/2 tsp. baking sode pinch salt

  7. 2 cups hot water

  8. 2 tsp. vanilla

  1. Grease and flour a 9“ x 13” pan. Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually; cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cocoa; add to creamed mixture; mix until smooth. Add vanilla to hot water; add to batter (slowly and at low speed); blend until almost smooth. Add handfull of chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, white chips, any type you want. Bake in preheated 350° oven for 35-40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted comes out clean. Frost with chocolate or peanut butter frosting.
