  1. 2 cups chilled champagne or sparkling wine

  2. 1 cantaloupe , cubed

  3. 1/2 honeydew , cubed optional: melon balls and mint leaves

  1. Working in batches, purée melon chunks and champagne in a blender, adding just enough wine each time to help liquify the melon. Put all the batches in one large bowl, and chill in the fridge. Serve in chilled soup bowls with chilled spoons. For an optional garnish, float a few melon balls and some chopped mint on top of the soup.
