  1. 3/4 cup corn syrup

  2. 1/3 cup corn oil

  3. 1 cup sour milk

  4. 1 egg

  5. 1/4 cup Argo or Kingsford's Cornstarch

  6. 1/2 teaspoon soda

  7. 2- 1/4 cups flour

  8. 1 teaspoon each cinnamon and clove

  9. 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

  10. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  11. 1 cup chopped raisins

  12. 1/2 cup cleaned currants

  13. 1/4 cup chopped citron or candied orange peel

  14. 1/4 cup chopped nut meats, any kind

  1. Instructions Combine the corn oil, corn syrup, milk and egg, beaten. Sift together the cornstarch, flour, soda, spices and salt. Add to the fruits, two extra tablespoons flour. Beat the flour into the first mixture, add the fruit. Oil a pudding mould, that holds about a quart and a half, with corn oil. Put in the mixture, cover and steam four hours. Serve with Lemon Sauce.
