  1. Rice 1 cup

  2. Toor Dal 1/2 cup

  3. Tamarind Paste 1 tbsp

  4. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

  5. Water 5 cups

  6. Potato 1 (Small)

  7. Carrots 2

  8. Cauliflower 1/2

  9. Mustard seeds 1 tsp

  10. Salt to taste

  11. Cooking oil 1 tbsp

  12. Butter 3 tbsp

  13. For masala powder : 1 stick Cinnamon

  14. Urad dal 1 tsp

  15. Channa dal 1 tsp

  16. Fenugreek Seeds 1/2 tsp

  17. Poppy seeds 1/2 tsp

  18. Grated coconut 1/4 cup

  19. Coriander powder 3 tsp

  20. Chilly powder 1 tsp

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and when they crackle add water, tamarind paste and turmeric powder.

  2. Remove from fire and pour this into a rice cooker.

  3. Add washed dal and switch on the rice cooker.

  4. While the dal is being cooked chop potatoes, carrots and cauliflower.

  5. Heat a pan and add urad dal, channa dal,cinnamon, poppy seeds and fenugreek seeds and roast till golden brown and then add coconut and roast till golden brown.

  6. Now add coriander powder and chilly powder and remove from fire.

  7. Keep aside to cool.

  8. When dal is almost done, add rice and chopped potatoes and keep cooking.

  9. Grind the roasted masala mix into a fine powder.

  10. When rice is 3/4 th done add carrots and cauliflower salt and masala powder.

  11. Switch of the rice cooker when rice is completely done.

  12. It should be little liquidy.

  13. Add butter and serve hot.
