  1. 1/4 cup 40g / 1.4oz Brown sugar - packed

  2. 2 tablespoons 30ml Paprika

  3. 2 teaspoons 10ml Salt

  4. 2 teaspoons 10ml Dry mustard

  5. 2 Bay leaves

  6. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Chili powder

  7. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Cayenne pepper

  8. 1/4 cup 59ml Worcestershire sauce

  9. 1/2 cup 118ml Cider vinegar

  10. 2 cups 474ml Tomato juice

  11. 1/2 cup 118ml Catsup

  12. 1 cup 237ml Water

  1. Mix together brown sugar, paprika, salt, dry mustard, bay leaves, chili powder, cayenne pepper, Worcestershire, vinegar, tomato juice, catsup and water in large saucepan.

  2. Place over high heat and bring to boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cook until slightly thickened, about 30 minutes. Discard bay leaves.

  3. Makes about 4 cups.
