  1. 1/3 cup(s) sugar

  2. 1/4 cup(s) water

  3. 3 1/2 cup(s) (from about 4 large pink grapefruit) pink grapefruit juice

  4. 1/4 cup(s) fresh lemon juice

  5. 2 tablespoon(s) vodka

  6. 1 teaspoon(s) grenadine syrup

  1. In medium bowl, combine sugar and water; heat in microwave oven on High 20 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir to dissolve sugar. Whisk in grapefruit juice and remaining ingredients; pour into 13" by 9" metal baking pan. Cover and freeze until completely frozen, at least 4 hours or overnight.

  2. To serve, remove granita from freezer. With the back of a large serving spoon, press down on surface of granita to break into large flakes. Transfer flakes to chilled wine goblets or dessert dishes.
