  2. 27 ounce can sauerkraut drained

  3. 16 ounces brown sugar

  4. 28 ounce can undrained whole tomatoes

  5. 1 large white onion chopped

  6. 1 apple peeled cored and sliced

  7. 1 teaspoon salt

  8. 3 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper

  2. Cover and simmer 4 hours.
