  1. Dutch Jan Hagels

  2. 1 kg flour

  3. 0.6 kg butter unsalted

  4. 0.65 kg mosvado white sugar (soft sugar)

  5. 1 egg

  6. 1 egg white or milk

  7. cinnamon

  8. sliced almonds

  9. granulated sugar (greinsuiker, granulated sugar that doesn't melt in the oven)

  10. Mix the butter, sugar and egg well and add flour and cinnamon.

  11. Roll the mixture with a rolling pin about 1/5 of an inch thick.

  12. Put the dough on a plate and brush lightly with the eggwhite or milk Sprinkle with sliced almonds and the granulated sugar. Pinch

  13. with a fork in several places.

  14. Bake the Jan Hagel in a preheated 350F oven, until a light "chestnut"

  15. brown color.

  16. After baking cut the Jan Hagel in pieces of 1 1/4 x 2 1/2 inch.
