  5. 1 1/4 qt Apples; peeled, sliced

  6. - and cooked 1 1/2 c Butterscotch chips

  7. 4 tb Flour

  8. 1 ts Cinnamon

  9. 2 tb Butter; melted

  10. 1 ds Salt

  11. 2 c Water

  12. --DOUGH--

  13. 1 c Flour

  14. 1/2 c Shortening

  15. 1/2 ts Salt

  16. 2 tb Water

  17. 1/2 c Brown sugar

  18. 1/2 ts Cinnamon

  19. Mix butter, flour, salt, butterscotch chips and cinnamon in sauce pan. Add

  20. water and cook over low flame until thickens, stirring constantly. Remove

  21. from heat and cool. Combine together flour, shortening, salt, brown sugar

  22. and cinnamon. Blend until smooth. Roll out on floured board. Cut into 1

  23. 10 minutes or until golden brown. In a

  24. deep buttered baking dish arrange apples on bottom and pour half of sauce

  25. over top. Lay pastry strips over top. Continue until all is used, leaving

  26. pastry on top. Spoon into individual bowls for each serving. Serve plain or with whipped cream on top. --
