  7. 1 1/2 cups water

  8. 6 cups sugar

  9. 3 6 lengths of string

  10. food coloring

  11. flavoring

  12. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and add 3 cups of the

  13. sugar stirring till dissolved. Slowly add the remaining sugar, reheating the

  14. water if necessary. When all the sugar is dissolved, pour the mixture into 3

  15. 3 drops of liquid food coloring and teaspoon of flavoring into each jar. Tie each length of string around a

  16. 1 string per jar

  17. the liquid. Crystals will begin to form in 1 hour, and continue to solidify

  18. for several days. If a layer forms on the surface of the jar break it. When

  19. the liquid completely evaporates, the candy is ready.

  21. stores carry candy flavorings. Use the food color you desire as well.
