  1. 2 cups All-Bran

  2. 1 cup crushed Shredded Wheat

  3. 1 cup boiling water

  4. 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  5. 2 cups sugar

  6. 2-1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  7. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  8. 2 eggs

  9. 2 cups buttermilk

  10. 1/2 cup canola oil

  11. 1 cup chopped dates

  12. 1 cup raisins

  13. 1 cup chopped walnuts

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cereals and boiling water; let stand for 5 minutes. In another large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. In a small bowl, combine the eggs, buttermilk and oil. Stir cereal and buttermilk mixtures into dry ingredients just until blended. Fold in the dates, raisins and walnuts. Fill paper-lined muffin cups two-thirds full. Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. Serve warm. Yield: 2-1/2 dozen.
