  2. BETTER-THAN-SALT HERB BLEND

  5. 3 Bay leaves -- finely

  6. Chopped 4 tb Oregano

  7. 4 tb Onion powder

  8. 4 ts Marjoram

  9. 4 ts Basil leaves

  10. 4 ts Winter savory -- ground

  11. 4 ts Garlic powder

  12. 2 ts Rosemary leaves --

  13. 1 t Sage

  14. 1 t Thyme

  15. 1 t Black pepper -- ground

  16. 1 tb Lemon zest -- dried

  17. The recipe is for dried herbs. If you have your own

  18. herb garden, do try drying your own. They will dry in

  19. seconds in a microwave, or in a longer time in a warm

  20. 180 degrees

  21. slilghtly ajar to allow moisture escape.

  22. Unless you have not time and patience that I have, buy

  23. the onion and garlic powders. I have tried chopping my

  24. own fresh garlic and onion, but they take too long to

  25. dry for me.

  26. Mix and crush to a coarse powder with a mortar and pestle or a small blender or food processor.

  27. The Herb Blend is delicious on slald greens, on sliced

  28. tomatoes and cucumbers, on fish, hamburgers, meat

  29. loaves, steaks, omelets, etc. Try mixing the Herb

  30. Blend with a stick of butter or margarine. Let stand in refrigerator for a day of two for good flavor. Use

  31. Herbed butter on vegetables, breads, meats, fish, etc.
