  1. 1 small to medium head green cabbage

  2. 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

  3. 1 (12-ounce) can Aunt Penny's White Sauce (it's the best)*

  4. 1 cup shredded Long Horn or cheddar cheese

  5. 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

  6. 1 cup cracker crumbs (your favorite)

  1. Core and cut cabbage into strips and boil for 5 minutes. Drain. Melt the butter and combine with the white sauce. Line a greased 9 x 9-inch square baking dish with the 1/2 cabbage strips, spoon 1/2 the sauce mixture over cabbage strips, sprinkle with 1/2 the cheeses and cracker crumbs. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients, ending with the cracker crumbs. Bake, uncovered, at 350°F (175°C) for 30 to 40 minutes.
