  2. 1 cup whole wheat flour

  3. 1 cup white flour

  4. 3 tablespoons wheat germ

  5. 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  6. 2 tablespoons baking soda

  7. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  8. salt -- optional

  9. sugar -- optional

  10. water to mix

  1. Combine all the dry ingredients. Add water, starting with 1/2 c and beating well. Add enough water till you have the consistency desired. If you prefer thicker batter, add less water, thinner batter, add more water.

  2. Fry in a very lightly oiled skillet till brown, flip and continue to cook the other side.

  3. VARIATION: Substitute the whole wheat flour with millet flour, or buckwheat and omit the wheat germ.
