  1. 1 package (1/2-ounce) Ehlers Pot Roast Cooking and Gravy Mix

  2. 3/4 cup water

  3. 1/2 cup dry red wine

  4. 1/4 cup red wine vinegar

  5. 1/8 tsp. ground cloves

  6. 1 3- to 4-lb. pot roast

  7. 4 carrots, quartered

  8. 2 onions. quartered

  9. 1/4-1/2 cup sour cream

  10. 1/4 cup gingersnap cookie crumbs Makes

  1. Method : Combine gravy mix, water, wine, vinegar and cloves in a 4-quart Dutch oven and stir to blend well. Add pot roast, cover and cook in a preheated 350F oven for 2 hours. Add carrots and onions. cover and cook 1 hour longer. Remove pot from oven and set meat aside on warm platter. Stir sour cream and gingersnap crumbs into sauce. Serve sauce separately.
