  1. 1/2 lb Bacon, cut in pieces 

  2. 1/2 lb Ground beef

  3. 1 md Onion, chopped 

  4. 2 c Water

  5. 1 c Uncooked regular rice 

  6. 2/3 c Chopped green pepper

  7. 1 cn (16 oz) stewed tomatoes 

  8. 1 ts Chili powder

  9. 1/2 ts Dried oregano leaves 

  10. 1/4 ts Salt

  11. 1/8 ts Pepper

  1. Fry bacon until crisp; drain on paper towels. Cook and stir hamburger and onion in 10-inch skillet until hamburger is light brown; drain. Stir in bacon and remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender, about 30 minutes.
