  1. 1 cup whole wheat flour

  2. 1 cup all-purpose flour

  3. 1/2 tsp salt

  4. 2 1/2 tsp baking powder

  5. 3 Tbs shortening

  6. 2 Tbs sugar

  7. 3/4 cup buttermilk

  1. Preheat oven to 230 C (450 F). Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Rub in shortening. Add sugar and buttermilk and mix to a light dough. Roll out dough, 3/4 inch thick. Cut biscuits and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes until golden.
