  2. 2 1/2 pounds cranberries

  3. Vinegar

  4. 2 2/3 cups sugar

  5. 1 tablespoon cinnamon

  6. 1 teaspoon ground cloves

  1. Wash and pick over the cranberries.

  2. Cover them with vinegar and cook until they burst.

  3. Force through a sieve.

  4. Add the other ingredients, return the mixture to the heat, and simmer until thick.

  5. Seal in clean, hot jars.

  6. Serve as a relish with fowl or meat.
