  1. 1/4 cup 49g / 1.7oz Margarine

  2. 2 cups 125g / 4.4oz Cherries--sour best Cake Portion

  3. 1 1/2 cups 93g / 3 1/3oz Flour

  4. 1/2 cup 99g / 3 1/2oz Sugar

  5. 2 teaspoons 10ml Baking powder

  6. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Salt

  7. 1 Egg

  8. 1/2 cup 118ml Milk

  9. 3 tablespoons 45ml Shortening--melted

  1. Recipe Instructions Melt the 1/4 cup margarine in a 9" pan. Add cherries mixed with the 1/2 cup sugar. To make cake, mix the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, 1 beaten egg, 1/2 cup milk and 3 tablespoons of melted shortening. Bake about 30 minutes in a 400F oven. IMMEDIATELY after baking, invert and put on a serving plate! This is an old recipe of my grandmother's. There were no baking times, oven temperatures and few measurements in the original recipe!
