  1. 2 1/2 cups basmati, jasmine or other long grain white rice

  2. 5 cups water

  3. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  4. 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  5. 1/3 teaspoon turmeric

  1. In a large pan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low. Cook until all liquid is absorbed, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and fluff. Let stand about 10 minutes before serving.
