  1. 1 c Sugar

  2. 2 tb Flour

  3. 1 Orange rind and juice

  4. 2 c Boiling water

  5. 2 tb Butter or butter substitute

  6. 1/4ts Salt

  1. + Directions : Combine sugar, salt, and flour. Add water slowly, stirring constantly. Cook over hot water, stirring constantly, 8 minutes. Add orange juice and rind, and butter. Stir until blended. Serve with steamed or baked puddings. For vanilla sauce, use 1 teaspoon vanilla instead of the juice and rind of orange. Grace Viall Gray, Glen Ellyn, IL.
