  2. 2 cans (16 oz each) vanilla frosting (do not use whipped) Blue, green, pink, yellow, orange and black paste (icing) or gel food colors* Vanilla wafers or vanilla Teddy Grahams, finely crushed Assorted speckled Jelly Belly jelly beans Rock candy Giant Goldfish crackers

  3. 1 Teddy Graham (diver) Any or all of the following: Green sour belts Green Apple Wave Fruit by the Foot Watermelon and Green Apple Airheads Gumdrop spearmint leaves, halved horizontally Green licorice twists (omitted on round cake)

  4. 1 gummy turtle (omitted on round cake) Goldfish Colors crackers Baby Goldfish crackers You also need:

  5. 1 qt-size ziptop bag, a small paintbrush, toothpicks and small scissors

  1. For 13 x 9-in cake (top photo): Place cake right side up on serving surface. Mix 1 can frosting with blue and green food colors to tint aqua. Frost top and sides. For 8- or 9-in. round cake (bottom photo): Slice rounded top off 1 cake layer; invert on serving plate. Mix 1 can frosting with blue and green food colors to tint aqua. Spread top with about 1⁄2 cup aqua frosting. Top with other layer, right side up. Frost cake with remaining aqua frosting.2. Press crushed vanilla wafers against bottom and partially up sides of cake. Pile jelly beans and rock candy as shown in photos.3. Spoon about 2 Tbsp frosting into each of 6 small cups. Tint to desired shades of blue, pink, dark pink, yellow, orange and black. Remove 1 Tbsp black frosting to ziptop bag; seal. Stir drops of water into frosting in bowls until thin enough to paint on crackers. Cover with plastic wrap when not using.4. Paint Giant Goldfish with blue, pink and yellow frosting and Teddy Graham diver with orange frosting. Let dry before adding another color. With a toothpick, decorate Goldfish with black dots for eyes and dark pink for smiles. Draw lines and dots with other colors; draw black boots and mask outline on diver. Let dry.5. With scissors, cut out seaweed shapes from sour belts, Fruit by the Foot, Airheads, spearmint leaves and/or licorice twists.6. Attach seaweed, all the Goldfish and diver with frosting. Cut a tiny tip off corner of ziptop bag with black frosting. Pipe black air hose to diver. Mix 1 tsp blue frosting with 1 tsp white frosting and a drop or two of water. With a toothpick, drop pale blue bubbles along air hose. Attach turtle, if using.*Paste and gel food colors can be found in cake-decorating, party-supply and crafts shops.Planning Tip: The cake can be prepared through Step 2 up to 3‑days ahead. Refrigerate covered. The fish and diver can be decorated 2 days ahead; store loosely covered at room temperature. Assemble a few hours before serving.
