  5. 4 ea Dried mushroom

  6. 1/4 c Water

  7. 2 lb Sauerkraut

  8. 1 ea Apple, peel, core, sliced

  9. 1 c

  10. 20 oz tomatoes

  11. 5 ea Peppercorns

  12. 1 ea Bay leaf

  13. 2 c Diced polish sausage

  14. 1 c Coarsely chopped bacon

  15. 1 ea Steamed potatoes

  16. 1/4 cup water for 2 hours. Bring to boil and simmer

  17. for 1/2 hour. Slice. Wash the sauerkraut and squeeze it. Add mushrooms

  18. and the liquid in which they were cooked. Add the apples, the tomatoes,

  19. 1 hour and 15 minutes. Add

  20. the meat and the bacon, simmer 1 hour longer. It is best reheated. Served

  21. with steamed potatoes or rye bread. --
