  1. 4 pounds pork spareribs

  2. 1 lemon, sliced (unpeeled)

  3. 1 onion, peeled and thinly sliced

  4. 1 cup ketchup

  5. 1/3 cup Worcestershire auce

  6. 1 teaspoon chili powder

  7. 1 teaspoon salt

  8. 1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

  9. 2 cups water

  1. Preheat oven to 450 °F (230°C). Place pork spareribs in a shallow roasting pan, meat side up. Place a slice of unpeeled lemon and a thin slice of onion on each rib. Roast for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, hot pepper sauce and water. Bring to a boil, then pour over the ribs at the end of the first 30 minutes of roasting. Lower oven temperature to 350 °F (175°C) and continue baking for about 2 hours, basting the ribs with the sauce every 15 minutes.
