  1. Serve 4 2 bunches large, seedless white grapes

  2. 1/2 cup/125 ml water

  3. 2 1/2 cups/500 g granulated sugar

  4. 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

  1. Method :

  2. Use a pair of scissors to snip the grapes from the bunch, leaving a little of the stem attached.

  3. Wash well and dry on paper towels. Insert a toothpick in each grape next to the stem.

  4. Pour the water into a small saucepan and add the sugar and cream of tartar.

  5. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat until it forms a syrup. To test: drop a little syrup onto a plate; it should form soft balls.

  6. Remove from the heat and dip in the grapes one by one. Let the grapes set on a lightly buttered dish, keeping them well- spaced.
