  1. 1 cup butter , softened

  2. 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar

  3. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  4. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  5. 1 cup chopped walnut s

  6. 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour

  1. Cream butter. Add ½ cup confectioner’s sugar, then vanilla and salt - beat until light. Stir in nuts and flour until well blended. Wrap dough in waxed paper and chill well. Preheat oven to 300°. Divide dough into eight equal pieces. On lightly floured surface, shape into thin rolls about ½ inch in diameter. Cut into 2 inch pieces and shape into crescents. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 18 to 20 minutes. Remove to rack to cool. Sift confectioner’s sugar over top to finish.
