  1. 1 1/2 lbs 681g / 24oz Fresh broccoli

  2. 2 cups 474ml Water

  3. 3/4 teaspoon 3.8ml Salt

  4. 1/2 cup 31g / 1.1oz Cornstarch - mixed with

  5. 1 cup 237ml Water

  6. 1 Half-and-half

  7. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Pasteurized processed cheese (Velveeta)

  8. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Freshly-ground black pepper

  1. Steam broccoli until tender.

  2. Place half-and-half and water in top of double boiler. Add cheese, salt and pepper. Heat until cheese is melted. Add broccoli.

  3. Mix cornstarch and water in small bowl. Stir into cheese mixture in double boiler and heat over simmering water until soup thickens.
