  3. 1 pound sugar

  4. 1 pound brown sugar

  5. 1/2 ounce salt peter

  6. 1/2 teaspoon red pepper

  1. Boil together with 1 gallon water and let cool. Add enough boiled cool water to cover [meat]. Keep in cellar or cool place. Will keep until used up.
