  1. 1/2 cup chopped apple

  2. 1/4 cup chopped onion

  3. 2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs

  4. 1/4 teaspoon ground sage

  5. 1/8 teaspoon pepper

  6. 1/2 pound bulk pork sausage

  7. 2 small acorn squash, halved and seeded

  1. In a medium bowl, combine apple, onion, bread crumbs, sage and pepper. Add sausage; mix well. Spoon into squash halves; place in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Cover and bake at 375° for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 minutes more or until sausage is no longer pink and squash is tender. Yield: 4 servings.
