  9. 1 Lemon; quartered

  10. 1/2 c Sugar

  11. 1 Whole clove

  12. 1 Cinnamon stick

  13. Fruit compotes are a typical dessert for a Sabbath meat meal.

  14. In a large saucepan, combine fruits, sugar, clove and cinnamon stick

  15. with 6 c. water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, cover, lower

  16. 30 to 45 minutes. Remove lemons, clove

  17. and cinnamon stick before serving warm or chilled.
