  1. 1 egg

  2. 1 tbsp. melted butter

  3. 3/4 c. sifted flour

  4. Dash cayenne pepper

  5. 1/2 tsp. baking powder

  6. 3/4 - 1 lb. frankfurters, cut into 1 inch pieces

  7. 1/2 c. milk

  8. 1/2 tsp. dry mustard

  9. 1/2 tsp. salt

  10. 1/2 tsp. paprika

  11. Bread crumbs

  12. Deep fat for frying

  1. Frying time: 3 minutes.

  2. In a bowl, beat together the egg, milk, butter, dry mustard and flour. Add seasonings and baking powder; blend well. Dip frankfurter pieces into batter then roll in bread crumbs. Repeat this procedure once more.

  3. In a deep kettle, heat fat for deep frying to 350 degrees; add a few pieces of frankfurter at a time and cook until golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve on fancy toothpicks.
