  1. 1 - 2 pounds of Chuck, trimmed and cubed

  2. 1 Medium onion sliced or use

  3. 2 shallots sliced ( My preference)

  4. 1 can (10 1/4 oz) beef consomme

  5. 1/2 - 3/4 Cup red wine

  6. salt & pepper to Taste

  7. 1/4 - 1/2 Cup Dry bread Crumbs to taste

  1. Preheat oven to 300 Degrees.

  2. Mix together the cubed beef, onion, consomme, red wine and salt and pepper in a bowl.

  3. Stir in the bread crumbs.

  4. Transfer to a casserole dish, cover.

  5. Bake at 300 degrees for 3 hours...**also can be done in a Crockpot for 5 hours on low**

  6. Serves 4 - 6...and can always be doubled.

  7. Great Sunday supper fare with Mashed Potatoes, Garlic Bread, Salad and Fresh Veggies...Enjoy!
