  1. 1 chicken (roasting chicken), cut in pieces

  2. 1 1/2 cups barley, washed

  3. 1/2 stalk celery, washed, cut in pieces Water Seasonings to taste

  1. Instructions Put all ingredients in a dutch oven or large pot. Fill with water to about 3 inches over top of chicken. Bring to a boil, then cover and lower heat. Simmer for about 50 minutes. Then serve.
