  6. 4 c Cooked chick peas

  7. 1 c Chick pea stock

  8. 1/4 c Light vegetable oil

  9. 2 c Finely chopped onions

  10. 2 ts Chopped garlic

  11. 2 tb Shredded ginger

  12. 2 ts Ground coriander

  13. 1/3 ts Ground cardamom

  14. 1 1/2 ts Lemon juice

  15. 1/4 ts Red pepper

  16. 1/4 ts Black pepper

  17. 1 md Tomato, chopped

  18. 1 t Salt

  19. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions

  20. 5 minutes. Add garlic & ginger & fry for minutes. Add all the spices plus the lemon juice.

  21. Mix well & fry for 2 minutes. Add tomatoes & cook for another 5 minutes.

  22. Add the stock, salt & another 1/2 cup of water. Cover

  23. & simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Add chick peas

  24. & cook, covered, for another 10 minutes. Serve

  25. garnished with sliced onion & green chilies. Serve

  26. with any puffy bread.
