  6. 1 Egg; lightly beaten

  7. 1 c Libby's solid pack pumpkin

  8. 1/3 c Granulated sugar

  9. 1 ts Pumpkin pie spice

  10. 1 Unbaked 9-inch pie shell

  11. --pecan layer--

  12. 2/3 c Light corn syrup

  13. 2 Eggs; lightly beaten

  14. 1/2 c Granulated sugar

  15. 3 tb Butter or margarine; melted

  16. 1/2 ts Vanilla extract

  17. 1 c Pecan halves

  18. Combine egg, pumpkin, sugar and pie spice in medium bowl. Spread over

  19. bottom of pie shell. Combine corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter and vanilla

  20. in the same bowl; stir in pecans. Spoon over pumpkin layer.

  21. 350 degree oven for 50 minutes or until filling is set.

  22. Cool on wire rack.

  23. Note: This pie looks like a pecan pie, but is not so sweet. I think the

  24. flavors and textures tend to compete (pecan vs pumpkin). If a full cup of

  25. sugar were to be used in the pumpkin layer, the result might be improved. --
