  6. 1 c Dates; chopped

  7. 1 c Pineapple juice; unsweetened

  8. 2 tb Butter

  9. 3/4 c Honey

  10. 1 Egg

  11. 1 1/2 c Flour; sifted

  12. 1 c Nut meats

  13. 1/4 ts Salt

  14. 2 ts Baking powder

  15. Heat Pineapple Juice,add the dates and cook over low fire, stirring

  16. occasionally until mixture is thick; cool. Cream honey and butter (or Shortening) add beaten egg and date mixture and nut meats. Sift together

  17. dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture and dates. Pour into well

  18. greased Loaf pan 10x4x3 the bottom of which has been lined with wax paper,

  19. to keep from sticking. Makes it easier to remove from pan.

  20. Bake in a moderately slow oven (325 F) for one hour. This bread will slice

  21. better if made and left to sit overnight, using the next day. Source: Old

  23. we can identify is 1902. I have done the best of my ability to translate

  24. ingredients, some we have used over the years some we have not. But all

  25. have been Great, and sooo Good. --
