  1. 1 3/4 c. granulated sugar

  2. 1 T. flour

  3. 4 eggs, lightly beaten

  4. 1/2 c. butter,softened

  5. 1 c. dairy buttermilk

  6. 2 T. fresh lemon juice

  7. 1 teas. vanilla

  8. 1 1/2 teas. freshly grated nutmeg

  9. 2 teas. lemon zest

  10. 1 Baked 9-inch pie

  1. Preheat the oven to 350^. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sugar,flour and eggs. Blend in the butter and the buttermilk with a whisk. Add the lemon juice, vanilla,nutmeg and lemon zest and mix well. Pour the filling into the baked crust. Set the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 60-75 minutes, until knife inserted in the center comes out moist but clean. Cool on wire rack before cutting. Dollop on a little whipped cream on each serving and sprinkle with a little nutmeg or cinnamon. Or serve crushed fruit top with a little whipped cream.(raspberries -my favorite)
