  1. 1 2/3 cups white sugar

  2. 1 cup soft butter

  3. 2 cups cake flour or 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour , sifted then measured

  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  5. 1/4 teaspoon ground mace

  6. 5 whole eggs

  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  1. Pre heat oven to 325 degrees.

  2. Grease loaf pan. Can line if desired.

  3. Cream butter and sugar until all granules are dissolved and you no longer feel them between your fingertips.

  4. Sift the flour and measure.

  5. Add the salt and mace.

  6. Sift all together once more.

  7. Add eggs one at a time, alternating with the flour to the creamed mixture.

  8. Beat until light and fluffy.

  9. Add the vanilla.

  10. Pour into prepared greased pan.

  11. Bake 325 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.

  12. Using tester to test.
