  1. 6 medium potatoes, scrubbed and thinly sliced (skin left on)

  2. 250-300ml soured cream

  3. 1 (40g) packet French onion soup mix

  4. 125g grated matured Cheddar cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Generously grease a baking dish.

  2. Mix together the soured cream and French onion soup mix in a bowl until well combined.

  3. Layer potatoes and soured cream mixture in prepared dish, starting with potatoes on the bottom. Continue until everything has been used up. Top with cheese.

  4. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour or until potatoes are soft and tender.
